Miss Debutante
The title of Miss Debutante is awarded to the Debutante who meets the ticket sale requirements and raises the most funds, over $3,500, less the presentation fee of $1,000. Miss Debutante will have met all registration requirements. Miss Debutante’s Scholarship is a percentage of funds raised, less the presentation fee. The Court to Miss Debutante will be chosen based on their position in the leader standing and must have met all requirements. The Foundation reserves the right to choose the number of members of the Court as seen appropriate. In addition to their respective monetary award, winners will receive a memento to commemorate the honor and sash. Miss Debutante will receive a crown and be draped in a ceremonial cape. Miss Debutante and her Court will be prominently displayed after the crowning ceremony. Miss Debutante will take a ceremonial walk at the cotillion, be required to attend next year’s cotillion, provide a motivational speech, and take her final walk.
Miss Congeniality
The Miss Congeniality Award is an honor chosen by the Debutantes and bestowed on the Debutante of their choice. The winner will receive a memento to commemorate the honor.
Community Service Award
The Forever Pink Foundation, Inc. is committed to service to the community. This award is close to the Foundation’s mission and purpose. The recipient is the Debutante, who can prove, with letters on letterhead, that they have completed the most community service for the current year. The winner will receive a memento to commemorate the honor.
Sheila Shaw Scott Book Award
This award is given to the Debutante, who has proven to possess the highest cumulative grade point average. The selection is based on the Debutante’s official transcript for the term immediately preceding the Debutante Cotillion. To be considered for this award, a Debutante must submit an official transcript from her school to the scholarship chairman by the deadline date given. The winner will receive a $500.00 monetary award and a memento to commemorate the honor.
Bernice Howell Stokes “ Salute to the Black Male” Award
This award is given to a Debutante’s Junior Escort who is classified as a high school senior who plans to enroll in a 2-year or 4-year college or university or is currently enrolled. The selection is based on the Junior Escort’s cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the term immediately preceding the Debutante Cotillion, an essay on the topic provided by the scholarship chairman, and a letter of character recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, minister, or community service organization or foundation. The winner will receive a $ 500.00 monetary award and a memento to commemorate the honor.
